Spring Newsletter 2016

To Everything there is a season…

Hello friends.
I hope you are all healthy and enjoying this season of rebirth. As the birds return filling the air with song; while flowers and trees burst forth with color, take time for reflection. May you find a special song in your heart, or perhaps a new verse to a melody you already carry.
I wrote my first song when I was fourteen. It was titled “What Path From Here?” Now I am thinking about that very thing, as I have been since the final MiddleGround performance last Oct. 23rd., and even more so after I broke my left arm, very close to my wrist on Nov. 3rd .These events gave me unexpected time for reflection, writing and healing.
It has also been a very busy year for my family. Our youngest daughter is a senior in High School. Our time has been filled with all of the exciting and exhausting preparations for college. She is beginning her new journey as well. We are so proud of her.
So I write to you from a different perspective as a solo artist. I look forward to sharing my new songs with you. While still in a cast I wrote an accapella song titled “Stillness of the Day”, something I hadn’t considered until that time.
For several months it has been my pleasure to play with John Petruzzelli, who you may recall is the co-producer of (MG’s) Open Door Cd released in 2014. He was very gracious to accompany me on guitar for a couple of performances while I was healing. The two of us will perform together at a few venues this summer, occasionally with one or two special guests to round out what we are calling Higher Ground.
Please friend Cindy Duchin on facebook for reminders of upcoming venues.
